I went to the Studio Museum of Harlem this afternoon to see The Bearden Project, a collection of work by artists influenced by Romare Bearden. There’s lots of great stuff on display, and the show runs through March 11. (Best of all, the Studio Museum is free on Sundays). But in the upstairs gallery there’s a series of silkscreen prints by Bearden that I had never seen, just mind-blowing images. Pictured above is one that I saw, called Prevalence of Ritual #3 (1974). If you’re in NYC over the next month, don’t miss a chance to see this amazing collection!
